If I could speak to my younger self today I would be able to make an impact.
Hi, my name is Gasconi and I have gone through the justice system myself. I faced difficulties in my life and made some choices that led me into trouble, but I didn't let that define me, and I decided to make a positive change!
I found a new path by working in the justice system to support others who were going through similar situations to me. I understand the challenges that people face when they are caught up in the justice system, and I know how it can impact their lives, families, and future opportunities.
Supporting individuals with justice experiences into employment has allowed me to create a real impact within the community and change the mindset of many who are seen as hard to reach.
My experience with the Justice system has been rewarding yet challenging. I initially found it difficult to find sustainable employment with actual career progression once released from prison. Thankfully I came across an organisation that not only supported me into employment but also provided me with mentorship and transitional support, which enabled me to find my career.

Now, in my role at Xconversation, I work to help people who are trying to turn their lives around. I assist them in navigating mainstream society and provide guidance and support. I also help them access resources such as job training and housing, which can aid them in rebuilding their lives.
Through my work, I want to inspire others to make positive changes and overcome challenges. I have first-hand experience in knowing that it's possible to turn your life around and create a better future. My story serves as a reminder that with the right support and resources, anyone can make a positive change in their life
